Shabana Mahmood MP has signed a joint letter coordinated by the Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group for British Sikhs. In the letter, the Parliamentarians support a fair, transparent, and open process being taken in regard to the case of Jagtar Singh Johal of Dumbarton, Scotland.
The Sikh Federation UK say that Mr Johal has been denied access to his lawyer, British Consulate staff and family for 10 days. He was detained in Jalandhar in the Punjab on 4 November. Mr Johal’s campaigners say that Mr Johal has been tortured by the Indian police.
