Commenting on the Government’s U-turn on A-level results, Shabana Mahmood MP said:
“After an incredibly unsettling 5 months for young people in Birmingham Ladywood and across the country, the past 5 days of chaos have plunged thousands into yet further uncertainty.
“This fiasco is symptomatic of the chaos at the heart of this Government – as is their stubbornness and reluctance to change course in the face of widespread and genuine opposition.
“This week’s u-turn is a victory for the thousands of young people who have made their voices heard over the past few days.
“Never again must government incompetence throw the future of the next generation into such needless and wholly preventable doubt.”
