Speaking after the latest Tory corruption scandal, Shabana Mahmood MP said:

“It is right that Owen Paterson resigned. It was a week of chaos from the Government, which pursued a Trump-like strategy and plumbed new depths by ripping up an independent standards system to save one of their own.

“Lets be clear: this is corruption. The Prime Minister needs to apologise and outline the action he’s going to take to restore public trust and confidence in the system.

“The Government must now commit to a full, transparent investigation into the more than £600 million of taxpayer money handed to Randox without competition or tender.”
