Shabana has made a submission to the Department for Levelling Up, Communities, and Local Government Committee inquiry on Exempt Accommodation.

The inquiry was launched after a series of interventions from local leaders and Members of Parliament regarding the proliferation of exempt accommodation.

At the time, Shabana welcomed the select committee inquiry as a step forward to tackle the problem.

The call for evidence closed on Friday 28 January 2022.

In her submission of evidence, which will be read as part of the inquiry, Shabana provided case studies based on the stories of constituents trapped in exempt accommodation.
