Shabana Mahmood has written to the Secretary of State for Housing, Michael Gove to urge him to include exempt accommodation in his new Social Housing Regulation Bill.

The Bill is set to be introduced to Parliament later this year.

The Government has committed that the Bill will strengthen the Regulator for Social Housing’s powers and transform its consumer regulation role so that it proactively monitors and drives landlords’ compliance with improved standards.
