Commenting after various reports relating to misogyny in Parliament, Shabana Mahmood said:

“I’m sickened by some of the stories that have been reported and there must be consequences for those who are found to have acted inappropriately.

“Parliament now has a new process in place after creating the Independent Complaints and Grievance Scheme aimed at sorting these issues out, which I welcome and completely support.

“But undoubtedly there is more that needs to be done to change the culture in Westminster so that this behaviour is no longer allowed to take place.”
