Shabana Mahmood has written to Birmingham Airport regarding the frequency of flights to Amritsar.

In a letter with Preet Gill MP and Birmingham MPs, Shabana has raised concerns that the service to Amritsar has been scaled-down.

The travel corridor is key for members of the Punjabi and Sikh diaspora communities in Birmingham.

As a result of the reduction in flights many are forced to incur additional expense by travelling to London Heathrow.

MPs have asked Nick Barton, Chief Executive at Birmingham Airport, to consider restoring the flights.
