Shabana visited Heritage Silverware in Small Heath

I was delighted to visit Heritage Silverware’s factory in Small Heath. They have been producing high quality tableware for last 45 years . They sell products to top hotels, including the Grand Hotel in Birmingham, and have even been featured on TV regarding their work. It’s great to see local businesses such as this thriving and investing in the local workforce with skills development and training.

It was fantastic to finish off the week at Chilwell Croft Primary School to speak to the Headteacher. I then went down to the school gates to meet parents and children of the school and hear about any issues they need my support on.

Pressure is mounting on Rishi Sunak to call a General Election after he ditched the promises he made during the Tory leadership race. He has no mandate, from the public, no mandate from his party and now he has no platform either. The Tories crashed the economy. If he really thinks he can make working people pay for it then he must call a general election.

It’s official: I’ve secured a debate in parliament regarding the Governance and financial sustainability of football clubs. It will take place on Monday 7th November at approximately 10pm. You’ll be able watch it live from the Commons Chamber using this link.

In the debate, I’ll raising the plight of Blues fans who have watched their beloved club driven to the brink. I will also be pressing the Government to re-commit to implementing the recommendations of the fan-led review and on the need for an Independent Regulator to be established as quickly as possible. It’s essential that we secure the future of Birmingham City Football Club in the heart of our city for future generations.

I hope everyone has a good weekend.
