Speaking in support of the Soho Road Business Improvement District, which goes to ballot later this year, Shabana Mahmood said:

“Over many years, I’ve seen the real and positive impact the BID has on the Soho Road and the wider Handsworth area.

“Whether its enhanced street cleansing, security patrols, marketing, regeneration, or events – the BID team are delivering for the small and medium sized business that drive our local economy forward.

“It’s clear that they’re rooted in our community and put the interests of businesses and our community at the heart of everything they do.

“I’d urge all businesses to support the continuation of the Soho Road BID in the upcoming ballot process.”
