Shabana has congratulated Labour’s Richard Parker after his election as West Midlands Mayor.

Speaking after Richard beat incumbent Andy Street in the closely-fought election, Shabana said:

“Congratulations to my friend Richard Parker – the first Labour West Midlands Mayor.

“I know Richard will work tirelessly to deliver change for the people of our region and for Birmingham Ladywood.”

Following his election, Richard and Labour Party committed to rebuilding trust with Muslim communities.
