Shabana celebrated the decision by visiting business on Soho Road.

A legal challenge to the operation of the Soho Road Business Improvement District has been rejected.

For some time, BID activities were suspended and funding from the Council frozen as the Ministry for Housing, Communities, and Local Government heard an appeal.

As the Member of Parliament covering the Soho Road, Shabana had been engaging with MHCLG, encouraging them to make a decision and speed up the decision-making process.

Last week the BID received the green light to continue its operation.

Commenting on the decision, Shabana Mahmood said:

Fantastic news that the Soho Road Business Improvement District has been given the green light by government to continue its work.

I’ve always supported their work championing businesses on the historic Soho Road, representing their interests and improving our community.

I know it’s been a tough time, and some of their high-profile events have been affected by the delay, but we move forward with the confidence that their work can now continue.
