Shabana has visited the Port Loop neighbourhood, after building works restarted on the canal-side community.

In 2022, the modular house company that built the first phase of the development went into administration.

Earlier this year, Midland Heart bought out the site with developer Keon Homes.

Residents have welcomed continued progress to complete the development.

In her visit, Shabana toured the site with representatives from Midland Heart, and visited existing residents in the Port Loop neighbourhood.

Speaking after the visit, Shabana said:

I’m delighted to see Midland Heart and Keon Homes restarting the Port Loop development, building 124 desperately needed affordable homes over the next 2 years.

 

It’s a relief for residents here – and I can’t wait to see the thriving canal-side community delivered as promised over the next few years.
