Commenting on the Government’s announcement that Birmingham will enter Tier 3 coronavirus restrictions from 2nd December, Labour MP for Birmingham Ladywood, Shabana Mahmood, said:

“Today’s announcement that Birmingham Ladywood will be under Tier 3 restrictions from the end of the England-wide lockdown next week will be deeply challenging and extremely frustrating for many local businesses, as well as for families and residents.

“However, as has been the case throughout the Coronavirus pandemic, I know my constituents will continue to obey the rules, to look after each other and to modify their behaviour to bring the rate of infection down.

“The recent positive news of the vaccines developed by our brilliant scientists and medics shows there is light at the end of the tunnel. In the meantime, I would urge everyone to continue to work together to keep Birmingham Ladywood safe.”
