Two directors of a Nechells recyling firm have been sentenced to 9 months in prison following the death of five workers when a wall collapsed.

Shabana Mahmood, Member of Parliament for Birmingham Ladywood, said:

“This was a horrific incident and a real tragedy which has left a long-standing scar on the local community.

“It has taken far too long to get to this point, but I am pleased that justice has now been done.

“My thoughts remain with the victims and their families, and I hope that they can find peace and begin to move on with their lives.”
