Shabana has visited the Nishkam Centre to meet community leaders and mark their 20th anniversary.

This year that Nishkam Civic Association is celebrating 20 years of work in the Soho and Handsworth areas.

In her visit, Shabana spoke to community leaders at Guru Nanak Nishkam Sewak Jatha and teaching staff at Nishkam Primary School.

Speaking after the visit, Shabana Mahmood said:

“It’s been brilliant to visit the Nishkam Centre today to meet with Bhai Sahib Ji and community leaders to talk about their priorities for the future.

“It’s a big year for the Nishkam Civic Association – as they mark their 20^th anniversary – and I was delighted to present them with a letter celebrating their work in Soho, Handsworth, and beyond.

“I’m honoured to have such a focal point for the region’s Sikh community my constituency, and I’ll continue to work alongside them in the best interests of our residents.”
